After Windows 10 Technical Preview was released at the beginning of this month I build am Virtual Windows 10 Client on one of my HyperV Lab Hosts. This is all done by Powershell (at least Version 3.0). The only thing you need is a HyperV Host and a “Windows 10 Enterprise” Preview ISO image.

When you install Windows Server 2012 you can choose between

Server Core Installation and Server with a GUI.

imageThe good news is, that now, you have the possibility to choose between the two modes after the initial installation!

So you can install your server with a GUI, install the drivers for all the network adapters, configure them with the desired IP’s, enable remote Management, Remote Desktop, enable Windows Update and then at the end you can switch back to Server Core (by removing the features).
