To get rid of this yellow WARNING message, you have to update the “Azure Active Directory Module” - although the message mentions the “Microsoft Online Services Module”

Before downloading the latest release it is helpful to check for the exact version installed by running the following cmdlet:

(get-item C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\MSOnline\Microsoft.Online.Administration.Automation.PSModule.dll).VersionInfo.FileVersion

In my environment I’have version “1.0.6580” installed before the update.

In the following Link you find the  history of the module:  Microsoft Azure Active Directory PowerShell Module Version Release History

The easiest way to find the download, is to open the Manage Azure AD using Windows PowerShell technet – article an download the (64 bit) version from there.

At first you have to uninstall the old version via Add/Remove Programs

Without doing this you get the following Error

Install it to the default location

After the installation check the FileVersion

It’s “1.0.8362.1 which is the latest version at the moment of writing this post.

Now you can

- load the module:   Import-module msonline

- connect to your tenant : Connect-MsolService –Credential $giCred

and don’t get the yellow update messge any longer!
